Jazz vocalist Bessie Vaughn  in her last known interview.

From The Penguin Guide to Jazz (Fourth Edition, 1992):

"Two days after a disastrous backstage interview with CBS, for ‘Jazz Tonite,’ Vaughn was found dead in her Las Vegas hotel room following a drug and alcohol binge that allegedly involved a politician with whom she was romantically linked. Vaughn's filmed interview never aired, due to the scandal surrounding her death, and her legend has since dwindled into obscurity. She released only two albums, which are now collectors' items among jazz aficionados."
